Deputy Clerk of Court
The McLean Clerk of Court’s Office is seeking one or more detail-oriented, organized, and dependable Deputy Clerk of Court(s) to assist in the daily operations of the court system. This role plays a critical part in maintaining accurate court records, supporting judicial proceedings, and delivering exceptional service to the public, attorneys, law enforcement, and other agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Process and maintain court records, filings, and legal documents in accordance with state laws and court procedures.
• Attend and record court proceedings as needed.
• Prepare and issue court documents such as summonses, warrants, and subpoenas.
• Collect and process fines, fees, and court costs.
• Provide information and assistance to the public regarding court services.
• Work closely with judges, attorneys, law enforcement, and other court personnel.
• Ensure confidentiality and accuracy in handling sensitive legal records.
• Perform data entry and use case management systems.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, public administration, or related field preferred.
• Previous clerical or court experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal/case management software.
• Knowledge of court systems and legal terminology a plus.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
